Be assured, NOLA offers great public transportation options as the city has many years of experience hosting world renowned events with millions of global travelers descending on the city, regularly.
We encourage you to use some of the options below, even if you decide to secure private transportation. Parking can be a hassle in some areas and there are some wonderfully convenient and economical options to
explore the city whereby, you can avoid the hassle!
Options for transportation to and from the airport:
Once in the city, aside from downloading common ride- share apps like Uber and Lyft, you can purchase online economical rides via ferry, trolley or bus utilizing a
Jazzy Pass. Rides for adults are $3.00 per day unlimited rides; 1.00 per day unlimited rides for youth and .80 per day unlimited rides for seniors.

To purchase a Jazzy Pass FOR YOUR TRIP TO NOLA,
you can follow these steps:
1. Visit the official website of the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) at
2. Click on the "Fares & Passes" tab on the top menu bar.
3. Select the type of Jazzy Pass you want to purchase (e.g., 1-Day, 3-Day, 31-Day).
4. Click on the "Buy Now" button next to the pass you want to purchase.
5. Create an account or log in to your existing account.
6. Enter your payment information and complete the purchase.
7. Once your purchase is complete, you can either print your pass or use the RTA GoMobile app to access your pass on your mobile device.
You can also purchase a Jazzy Pass in person at the RTA's Canal Street Ferry Terminal, the RTA's Carrollton Station, or at various retail locations throughout the city.
To use a Jazzy Pass in New Orleans, you can follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have a valid Jazzy Pass loaded onto your RTA GoMobile app or printed pass.
2. Board the bus or streetcar at any designated RTA stop.
3. Show your Jazzy Pass to the driver or fare inspector when requested.
4. If using the RTA GoMobile app, activate your pass before boarding by tapping the "Activate Pass" button on the app.
5. If using a printed pass, make sure it is not expired and keep it with you at all times while riding the RTA.
6. When exiting the bus or streetcar, simply exit through the rear door unless you need to use the front door for accessibility reasons.
Note: that Jazzy Passes are non-transferable and can only be used by the person whose name is on the pass. Also, make sure to keep your Jazzy Pass in a safe place and do not lose it, as lost or stolen passes will not be replaced.
